"UDAY SPOILT ME ROTTEN" PRIYANKA CHOPRA

Supriya Davda had a chat with Beauty Queen and award-winning actress Priyanka Chopra about awards, new-age films & 'Pyaar Impossible'

BY SUPRIYA DAVDA | JAN 8, 2010

Q. After doing films like 'Fashion', 'Kaminey' and 'What's Your Rashee', what made you sign a rom-com?
A.
I really like doing different things, challenging myself and pushing the envelope. And in fact it’s a conscious effort that I make. If you have noticed I have done a mix bag of things from the on-set, and 'Pyaar Impossible' is a happy and sweet film.

Q. How has it been working with YRF and being directed by Jugal who was once an actor?
A
. I have to say firstly Uday as a producer spoilt me rotten. It’s a great production team to work with. Working with every member has been so memorable. Jugal is a great guy, simple and knows his mind. Hopefully this will be a great start of the year for all of us.

Q. Star Screen Awards have nominated you twice in the category for the 'Best Actress' awards in the only two films you did last year. What's your reaction?
A.
I know can you believe it, it felt awesome. I’m really excited and if I get the award it will be the second year running so I’ll be over the moon. 'What’s Your Rashee?' was is really special to me, to play twelve different characters in one film is difficult I hope it gets its due.

Q. Do you think audiences still want to see romantic comedies or do you think they have been bitten by the ‘coming of the age’ kind of films?
A
. Rom-Coms will remain ever green. I know I would definitely choose to watch a rom-com over a dramatic movie, but then again its dependant upon ones mood. 'Pyaar Impossible' is too cute a film, I am sure audiences will appreciate it.

Q. What are you working on now?
A.
I am opposite Ranbir Kapoor in 'Anjana Anjani'. I can’t talk about the film too much, but watch this space.

'Pyaar Impossible' has released today at most cinemas nationwide. Click here to read the interview of Jugal Hansraj the director of 'Pyaar Impossible'
