The era of the six packs is over and thanks to KJo, it’s not just actors, but fitness freaks are now hounding their instructors to get that perfect backside

Strange, but true…Karan Johar is the person responsible for the butt mania in tinsel town.
It began with Tarun Mansukhani’s 'Dostana'. John Abraham worked on his butt, and to give the girls an eyeful of his luscious curves, the yellow shorts were pulled a tad lower than usual. In fact, it was not just the short shorts, but the color too.
John had revealed in Farah Khan’s chat show, “Karan was adamant that it be a canary yellow. It was not easy hunting for shorts in that color. I can assure you, till date, you can hunt all you want for a yellow colored shorts in Mumbai, but you will be hard pressed to get one.”
And now for yet another of Karan Johar’s flicks, 'I Hate Luv Stories', the lead actor has had to work hard to get that perfect butt. Imran Khan has been quoted that he had to cut the intake of salt three days prior to the shoot that featured him showcasing his butt.
So are the days of female eye candy over? Trends indicate that the female species is suddenly making her demands more vocal and film makers are more than glad to please that section of the audience, which constitute the bulk of his revenue earning. Male item songs are on the rise, while there is a certain dip in the market for dancers like Rakhi Sawant and Payal Rohatgi in films.
Bollywood has seen many a fad. And amongst fitness fads, the six pack syndrome certainly got the actors running to gyms to pump up a little more and also contribute to the decline of the pomfret population in Mumbai as suddenly steamed and grilled fish became the flavor of the season. And now it is the turn of the butt.
