Housefull grosses Rs. 64 crores at the box office in its opening weekend, second highest opening after 3 Idiots

Eros International Media Limited has announced the opening of Sajid Nadiadwala’s 'Housefull' which released across theatres on 30th April and has grossed Rs. 64 crores worldwide in its opening weekend. Among the first of the summer releases post IPL, 'Housefull' opened across 2,000 plus screens worldwide and garnered a collection of Rs. 48 gross in India and Rs. 16 crores overseas in its opening weekend.
'Housefull' directed by Sajid Khan has performed worthily across all key centres and overseas. With its wide distribution strategy, Eros hopes to reach out to a record number of viewers worldwide.
Commenting on the opening, Nandu Ahuja, Sr. VP, Distribution, Eros International Media Limited said, “'Housefull' being the first major release post 45 days of cricket frenzy, we were confident that it will open very well. With its excellent weekend performance, the biggest of the year so far, 'Housefull' has lived up to its name”.

Bollywood starved audiences waited over 6 weeks for a Blockbuster and the team of Eros, Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan did not let them down."
"'Housefull' is a fun filled film with tremendous repeat value, just what the exhibitors and moviegoers were demanding. Similar response is being reported from other territories in the Asian and African subcontinent. In Pakistan, collections on Saturday doubled as compared to opening Friday after positive word of mouth."

'Housefull', a comic caper in true Sajid Khan style, stars a mix of actors including his favorites Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh along with Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal and Jiah Khan.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Housefull is the result of an output deal signed between Eros International Media Ltd and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment with whom Eros has enjoyed a long association.
