BBC ASIAN NETWORK ANNOUNCES SUMMER CRICKET COVERAGE

The BBC Asian Network today announces its summer cricket coverage, which includes live updates from every international match involving south Asian teams, being played in England

The network will also bring the Gagan Grewal show live from four of the major games.

Starting with the England v Bangladesh Test Match on Thursday 27 May, BBC Asian Network sports reporters Deepak Patel and Nikesh Rughani will provide live 30 second updates every fifteen minutes into all weekday shows (on the hour and at 15, 30, 45 minutes past the hour). At weekends, there will be three updates an hour into the majority of shows.

Evening presenter Gagan Grewal also presents special live broadcasts from four games over the season – England v Bangladesh Test Match (7 June), England v Bangladesh One Day Match (8 July), Pakistan v Australia 2020 Match (5 July), England v Pakistan Test Match (30 July).

Husain Husaini, Head of Programmes, BBC Asian Network says: ‘This has got to be the best summer for Asian cricket we've ever seen in this country with Bangladesh and Pakistan touring, as well as Pakistan taking on Australia. We know our audience loves their cricket and we want to make sure they can get all the news and updates on their BBC Asian Network.
