The first Brit Asia TV Music Awards took place in Birmingham on Sunday night (2nd May)

Comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli hosted the night's proceedings and entertained the audience to fits of laughter before introducing the crème de la crème of BritAsian Royalty.
DJ H was one of the big winners of the night at the Brit Asia Music Awards walking away with best club DJ presented by the pioneer of electronic dance in the UK, Fat Boy Slim.
Other winners of the night included Jay Sean, who picked up two gongs one for Best UK Urban Act and his hit track Down was named Best Single. Miss Pooja won Best Female and Malkit Singh was given the award for Outstanding Achievement.
A.S Kang was presented with the night’s greatest honor; life time achievement award. A.S Kang’s musical career spans over an impressive 4 decades and he produced the biggest Punjabi song of all time "Giddian Di Rani" and became the first UK based Punjabi artist to break into the Indian market.
Managing Direcotor of Brit Asia TV, Jaz Bal said; "This awards ceremony promises to be an annual event promoting current and aspiring artist’s across the globe. Brit Asia TV will be bringing bigger and better performances to fans of British Asian music next year."
