From Plan B to The Beatles, Kanye West to Keith Urban, Miles Davis to Michael Buble, AC/DC to Arctic Monkeys, Jamie Cullum to Katherine Jenkins, Sky1 are on a hunt. Whether you’re an eight-year-old pianist, an eight-piece rock group or a brass band playing 80s pop, then Must Be The Music is the place to be. With a nation of authentic music lovers desperate to find a platform to launch their talent, Sky 1 HD announced its search for the best undiscovered musical talent in the UK.
Set to air in Summer 2010, Must Be The Music is open to all musicians, no matter what type of music they play - be they solo artists, groups, vocalists or instrumentalists. The judges will travel the length and breadth of the country in the hunt for the best talent Britain has to offer.
Any age, any style - this show is about a passion for music and a desire to perform - whether you are a bedroom rapper, a beatboxer, a gospel choir or a Bhangra group. Open auditions will be held all over the UK throughout May with full dates to be announced on sky.com/sky1.
Must Be The Music is a competition with a unique edge – not only will it include a huge spectrum of musical talent but also hand back control to the artists themselves, empowered by creative support, promotional advice and a cash fund of £100,000 to kick start their career – plus top billing at one of Britain’s biggest live music arenas.
The show will also give viewers the chance to download the music from the show and give fans the power to have a huge impact on the success of their favourite artist’s career, whether they win the overall prize or not.
Must Be The Music will launch this summer on Sky1 HD and Sky1. Applicants are invited to come forward immediately. For further information go to sky.com/sky1.
