It's official, British women simply can't stand shopping any more!

It could be down to the sea of people you encounter as soon as entering the Topshop universe in London's Oxford Street or the insanely long queues for the changing rooms in Gap or even the vulture-like characters that seem glued to the bargain shelves in department store Selfridges. Whatever the reason, British women have declared that they simply can't stand shopping any more.
For the pained boyfriend who has spent many a Saturday offering verdicts outside changing rooms, it may seem hard to believe, but the majority of women now find shopping a tiresome, stressful task, with wandering the high street becoming something to be quickly slotted in between other events.
Fresh research from retail analysts Mintel reveal that only 17% of women deem shopping an enjoyable pastime. Either that or the recession has even managed to hit the purse of the most thriftiest of persons.
