Saturday 17th April 2010 saw hundreds of hopefuls aspiring for a taste of the glitz, glamour, stardom and success of Bollywood descend upon St. Giles Hotel, Central London for the Bollywood Dance Championships 2010 Audition.
Competitors arrived from all across the UK to showcase their talents at the X-Factor style audition process, in the hope of securing a winning place in the Bollywood Dance Championships 2010 taking place in July at O2. The judges were looking for dance talents that possess the passion, drive and determination to make it as a top Bollywood star.
Participants who were selected at the auditions will go on to enter the second stage of the competition – Bollywood Dance Championships 2010 Talent Show Heats – taking place on Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd May at City Pavilion, London.
Videos of the lucky semi-finalists will also be uploaded onto the Bollywood Dance Championships 2010 website on Desitara.com where viewers will be able to vote for their favourite dancer. The video with the highest vote will win the Public Viewers Vote at the finale event in July.

Finalists will be selected from age groups: 4-7 years; 8-12 years; 13-17 years; and 18 and over, across solo and group categories. The lucky overall winner selected at the Finale event taking place in July, may be a group or solo performer and will be mentored for worldwide projects from September through to December 2010. They will receive free, premium service tutelage worth £30,000 from Bollywood supremo Honey Kalaria herself, who will mentor, support and offer one-to-one consultation to the winner.
Honey Kalaria will also be conducting a special Bollywood Masterclass on Sunday 9th May, where she will be providing extensive dance training as well as tips and advice to perfect skills and techniques.
In speaking about the Auditions, Honey says, "I was absolutely amazed to see the wealth of talent that we have in the UK. The aim was to discover the stars of tomorrow and offer training, mentoring or put candidates forward for roles that we are currently casting for. I congratulate all those who are auditioning and I am pleased to say that we found a few gems that we feel we can polish and turn into diamonds".
Professional dancers, students from performing arts schools and any other dance hopefuls who were unable to make the Auditions on Saturday still have the chance of entering by simply uploading footage of themselves performing directly onto the microsite, www.desitara.com/honeysdanceacademy, by 30th April 2010.
