A 12-year-old piano genius has taken the Internet by storm with his version of Lady Gaga's Paparazzi
There are so many online Lady Gaga spoofs it's becoming impossible to know what to watch and what to avoid. It comes with the territory for today's foremost pop idol. Want to see a dog performing ‘Bad Romance'? Your mum ironing while singing along to ‘Poker Face'? ‘Telephone' homages on Chatroulette? They're all out there somewhere. But it looks as though the ultimate Gaga tribute has arrived in the shape of a 12-year-old boy who looks like Justin Bieber but plays like he's been getting tuition from the Lady herself. A school recital performance of ‘Paparazzi' by wunderkind Greyson Michael Chance has caused an internet sensation on his YouTube channel, chalking up an astounding 7,500,000 views. Greyson says he is "very inspired" by the singer, as the flamboyant style of his performance illustrates. "Lady Gaga is a freak but she has so much talent and her style of music is what I would like mine to be when I'm older," says the student from the Sixth Grade of Cheyenne Middle School in Edmond, Oklahoma. But he's not just reinventing the work of other people. Despite his age, Greyson is a talented songwriter in his own right and has posted links to a handful of original compositions online, which suggest a bright future in music awaits. US chat show queen Ellen DeGeneres clearly agrees, inviting him to appear on her show this week. As the teacher at the end of the clip suggests, while the other pupils look in open-mouthed awe, he could even "teach Lady Gaga a lesson".
