Following on from the unprecedented full house success of last year's "Horn E Bass" and "Vocal Chord" sessions, join the charismatic clarinettist and composer, Arun Ghosh, with invited guests for a 3rd spring afternoon of aural experimentation and sonic explorations.
A musical excursion into the lush rhythms & diverse sounds from the continent of Fela Kuti, Ethiopiques & Abdullah Ibrahim - with a focus on West Africa's 21-string harp.
Featuring special guest, Senegalese kora maestro, Kadialy Kouyate, performing original music inspired by & arising from the griot repertoire of the Mandinka tradition.
Also presenting, Sona Jobarteh, the first female kora player to come from the prestigious Jobarteh musical family - the granddaughter of the Master Griot of his generation, Amadu Bansang Jobarteh, and cousin of the celebrated kora player Toumani Diabaté.
Expect more new music as Arun Ghosh takes you on an exclusive "Primal Odyssey" showcasing tracks from his forthcoming 2nd album with a stellar lineup including guest vibraphonist Corey Mwamba, Idris Rahman on saxophone, Shabaka Hutchings on bass clarinet, Liran Donin on double bass & Pat Illingworth on drums.
