Dance Atlas is a brand new user-generated website to create a world map of dance
BY RAJIB RAHMAN | MAY 11, 2010
Dance Atlas is a living archive of dance and movement across the world between 2010 - 2012.
To make your mark and help to fill it, Southbank Centre want you to create your own signature dance move, video it, upload your vid and pinpoint where you're from on thier world map for everyone else to see.
Famous choreographer and Artistic Director of Protein Dance, Luca Silvestrini, will select your best moves from the map and create five new and unique routines which will be performed by thousands of people at the huge Big World Dance event in London on July 10th as part of Big Dance 2010, a London-wide celebration of dance with nine days of extraordinary dance events.
Anyone can post their signature move and post it to where they are from on a global map, so that the world can witness the moves that are being made across the continents.
Southbank Centre will use the material collected to influence and inspire new dance projects that will engage, encourage and activate London and the rest of the world to dance.
Choreographers will be posting their signature moves and alongside professional and non-professional dancers as we ask you to make your mark and post your favourite dance style.
Visit www.danceatlas.org to upload your dance video.
